“We were proud to be exhibitors at the Augsburg Off-Grid Expo + Conference, from 7th – 8th December 2023. The booth was shared with our partner Solar Cooling Engineering GmbH. While our partner presented its technical cooling solutions and experiences from various projects, we were happy to share information about the commercial viability of solar cooling projects and how such projects can be structured to mitigate risks and be as profitable as possible. It was our pleasure to welcome many guests to our booth, including organizations and companies from various emerging countries from Sub-Sahara Africa as well as international organizations providing support to these countries for fostering the development of cold chain infrastructure in the agriculture sector.
In the framework of the expo, we agreed with Solar Cooling Engineering to intensify our long-lasting cooperation and signed an agreement on the provision of online training. Finally, our partner invited us to contribute to his session on solar cold rooms during the Technical Day, which took place just before the Expo started. We gave a presentation about business cases, including the investment of exporters and aggregators in first-mile solar cooling systems. Some key success factors for viable solar cold room projects were also highlighted.
