Establishment and monitoring of nuclei among member companies with the objective of reducing environmental threats and increasing exportability.
Identification and training of local consultants to facilitate and monitor the nuclei and the development of an adapted nuclei handbook.
Financial control of the project budget regarding the nuclei aspect.
In close coordination with international (UNIDO, sequa) and local partners (Dhakka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather Goods and Footwear Exporters' Association, and Bangladesh Tanners' Associations) where the project activities were developed, designed and implemented. These activities included training on occupational health, wastewater treatment, energy efficient technologies and marketing strategies.
Developing networks with training facilities and businesses in Europe (e.g. study tour through Europe).
